From Dublin inner city and is a 22yr old Irish fashion design graduate of the National College of Art and Design. Louise's work revolves heavily around hand embroidery, appliqué and beading as it is the surface which is the most fascinating part of the process for her
Louise's work evolves from strong concepts usually derived from the current political climate.
Over the last 6 years Louise worked within many aspects of the fashion Industry. From wardrobe at the Abbey Theatre Dublin, and on TV with Off the Rails, as well as completing internships with Irish designers Emma Manley and John Rocha, to further a field in New York City where she worked with Proenza Shouler. Louise's most recent role as a junior Designer at Joanne Hynes & a junior Designer at Styletex generating styles for companies alike Topshop & SEARS.
Graduating from NCAD her graduate collection entitled 'Make America Fake Again' is a womenswear collection which stems from her childhood idea of the American Dream and the beautiful nightmare its has become. Pieces are made up of graphic stylized hand embroidered characters juxtaposed with strong layered silhouettes. Louise's work is very much motivated by the current political climate and is a visual response to the sickening culture of consumerism.
AWARDS & NOMINATIONS
Louise was nominated a place as a finalist for her deigns with Kildare Village 2017 racing jacket competition,and with the Golden Egg Irish Innovation awards in category of upcoming graduate. Most recently Louise has earned herself a space in the prestigious competition Mittelmoda 2017. Louise has been selected amongst 20 other finalists out of over 4,000 international applicants. June 2017 Louise showcased her collection entitled " Make America Fake Again" in Milan hosted by Mittelmoda during Milan Fashion Week.
From 2016 to 2017 Louise continued to sell one off pieces to clients leading to a well respected relationship with clients and which now sees the 2018 Launch of Louiseagh bags coming soon in April.
April 2018 Louise is due to exhibit at Powerscourt Design Centre in Dublin for REPEAL project. The event will see Louise launch her most maximalist couture piece to date. The project is in response to the REPEAL project for 'Fashion is repealing' along with many other Irish designers.
